Bootcamp entrepreneur: Recorded soul

Joel Seckleman is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University. His degree in Creative Music & Sound Technology is providing the basis of a business which he expects to launch fully later this year.
He graduated in 2008 and has spent time working formerly in retail and more recently as an IT support analyst. He registered as a sole trader in February 2010 and is currently laying the foundations for the full launch of his company, Recorded Soul.
Recorded Soul will offer a creative approach to photography and multimedia materials drawing on Joel’s expertise as a photographer, as well as his skills in sound technology.
His attendance at GE’s boot camp in June 2010 is really the beginning of his journey. “Although I’ve already been doing some photography work, I’m still developing my business plan and boot camp has been really useful in helping me to focus properly on it and look towards the next 5-10 years,” says Joel. “The standard of tuition has been really high and I’ve gained a lot of practical skills. I’ve also met several professional services providers who have been enormously helpful with advice and guidance.”
